CENTRO DE OCIO KOA

The KOA Leisure Center is a recreational complex located at the entrance to Lleida, where Alfaro-Manrique Atelier developed the design of the facades and interior meeting spaces.

With a strong impact on the environment, as required by the commission, KOA’s lightweight façades reinterpret a living organism that changes throughout the day, from a golden patina that reflects natural light to a deep cloud of artificial light that bathes the metal lattices at night.

This lighting and material resource is complemented by the thermal capabilities of the façade, which, thanks to its perforated texture and variable shape depending on the orientation, encourages ventilation, improving its thermal conditions.
